The West Suburban Symphony of Hinsdale, Illinois, celebrates the spirit of America in “Dvorak & Dixon,” a concert with two popular Summit County entertainers at the Riverwalk Center. Maestro Peter Lipari conducts. The concert features Dvorak’s New World Symphony and songs by après-ski entertainer Moe Dixon, introduced by an original composition for guitar, cello, and Native American flute by Leon Littlebird.
The West Suburban Symphony has performed in the Chicago area for more than 60 years, and has presented a series of concerts in England. Peter Lipari, the symphony’s music director, has led orchestras, opera productions and musicals around the world. He is known for his dynamic conducting style and his rapport with audiences.
Moe Dixon is one of the top guitar solo artists in the country, specializing in fingerstyle and ragtime guitar. His masterful song writing and powerful vocals are filled with his optimistic vision of life. His audiences connect with his energy, turning each performance into a celebration.
Leon Littlebird is a musician of many talents, known especially for his captivating Native American flute compositions and performances and his songs that tell stories of Colorado and the West.

Tickets for this concert go on sale May 29, 2010 at noon when the Riverwalk Center Box Office opens for the summer 2010 season. Starting May 29, Box Office hours for the season is Tuesday-Sunday (closed Monday) from noon to 5pm or from noon to one half hour past the beginning of a performance on nights when we have a performance.
