In 1880, Breckenridge was home to two dance-halls, ten hotels, and eighteen saloons. A local expert will lead you through Breckenridge Nationally Recognized Historic District. See the buildings that housed these businesses, as well as the barbershop, restaurants, offices, bank and theatre. View the earliest homes in town from log cabins to stately residences. Also included on the tour is the courthouse, school and churches. Allow 90 minutes to complete the tour. Reservations are not required. Tours begin and end at the Breckenridge Welcome Center.
The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance (BHA) was founded in December 2006 to promote and protect Breckenridge's unique history and heritage. Through a collection of sites and historic tours as well as programs and events for all ages, the Alliance encourages residents and guests to experience firsthand what life was like in the historic Breckenridge. The BHA offers a variety of different tours, hikes and open museums. For more information on the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance, please visit their website.
We would like to thank all staff for their help over the extra days we had to stay due to the flight cancellations and would recommend Best Western Lake Dillon Lodge any time.
