winter in summit county

No place looks better in white than Summit County.

Everyone knows that when the snow flies, Summit County offers some of the country’s best skiing. And while there are no ski resorts right in Frisco, the Lake Dillon Lodge is perfectly situated to take advantage of it all.

We’re just 9 miles from Keystone and 9 miles from Breckenridge. We’re also just 7 miles from Copper Mountain. And if those three aren’t enough for you, we’re a short drive from Arapahoe Basin, one of the county’s most underrated yet challenging ski areas, or Vail, one of the country’s largest. But if you only come to Summit County to ski this winter, you’re only getting half the story.

There are places throughout the area that offer snowmobile tours both day and night, and just about every resort puts on a festival nearly every week (after all, if you lived here you’d be celebrating too). Many towns have their own ice skating arenas and there are Nordic ski centers everywhere. Lake Dillon has great ice fishing, and there are lots of opportunities for snowshoeing, either on your own or with a tour guide. And if you’d rather break the bank than break trail in the wilderness, you’ll find no end to the shopping.
